Mantas and Mauna Loa! It’s been an eventful week here on the Big Island! When our crew wasn’t out exploring Kona’s coast, they took some time to see Maua Loa’s flows for themselves. Check out our previous blog for our latest volcano photos and videos from Kelsi and Captain Andrew!
With the glow of Mauna Loa lighting up the sky, it’s an incredible time to visit the Big Island! We’re thrilled that our guests got the ultimate Hawaiian experience this week… mantas and volcanoes! The last night of November was spent with multiple mantas including Shea and Gabby. Heavy plankton and hungry mantas made for our highlight snorkel of the week!
We kicked off the month of December with morning mantas and Hawaiian spinner dolphins. Our adventure took us from Honokohau to Keahou and Makako Bay as we encountered wildlife in the inshore and offshore waters in between. We snorkeled with some of our favorite species, manta rays! Guests who joined our night manta and daytime adventures got to see mantas in the dark and light! There was no shortage of awesome encounters, warm weather, and beautiful views on our many Hawaiian Adventures this week.
