Whale & Wildlife Report | July 17-30, 2023

This week was phenomenal for dolphins and we encountered large groups of Hawaiian spinners and bottlenose dolphins! The Hawaiian spinner dolphins are typically more active in the early morning hours, and we saw large groups jumping and spinning in the air while others rode our bow and wake. We often see smaller groups outside the can at the mouth of Honokohau, always a fun sight!

Our night manta trips have been fantastic and we were fortunate for great water and weather conditions this week. Some nights we had clear visibility while others were a little cloudy, but either way, the plankton was heavy and the mantas were hungry! We encountered lots of familiar faces including Lafferty, Left, Grayer, Quarantina, Amanda, Lefty, Gita, Akari, Gaby, Alexia, Vicky, and many more! Our custom light boards have been performing extremely well, and the ability to connect them and great a long chain makes for some incredible manta viewing. Shoutout to our excited guests and awesome guides for our recent night adventures!
