We might be biased, but we can’t think of any better way to cool off during the heat of summer than to dive in beneath the waves. Snorkeling is prime at this time of the year here in Kona, since calmer seas and warmer waters typically accompany the summer sun. Avoid the crowds that flock to the beaches, step onboard, and let our crew show you their favorite coastal reefs during our midday family snorkel.
As we leave the marina, settle in and relax, taking in views of the stunning Kona coastline as we venture to our choice destination. Your crew will be scanning for wildlife all the while, as you never know what encounters the ocean will provide each day. When we’ve arrived at the reef, we’ll don our snorkel gear (provided onboard) and noodles for those who would like some added buoyancy, drop our swim ladder, and slide into the shimmering blues.
Hawaii is home to species you won’t find anywhere else in the world, fish and invertebrates that are endemic to our island waters. Our naturalists and guides will jump in the water with you and highlight the wildlife as you encounter it. Listen to parrotfish munching on the reef, watch eagle rays gliding by, or see how many species you can spot making home on the reef.
When you’re ready for a break, easily climb back onboard using our swim steps and sturdy handhold, rinse off with a freshwater shower, and hydrate with a refreshing beverage while sinking back into cushioned seats. Let the wind dry your hair as we cruise home, swapping stories of our reef finds and reveling in the memories you’ve made.
We’ll arrive back at the dock in time for you to catch the sunset at the beach or grab dinner in town. If you need recommendations, just ask!
