The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year!

We are counting down the days until the official start of our whale watching season, and the anticipation is palpable. We might be biased, but as whale watchers there is no doubt that winter is the most wonderful time of the year here in Hawaii!

Breaching babies, nursing mothers, fired-up males competing for the chance to mingle with some ladies…You haven’t fully experienced humpbacks in the wild until you’ve spent time with them in the breeding grounds. It’s an entirely different level of whale activity!

Want to discover what all the hype is about? We will be running multiple whale watching trips a day from December 16th – March 16th. Not sure which time of the day to join us? Sightings success does not differ between trips, but here are our recommendations when choosing a time:

7:00am: Our crew’s favorite trip of the day! Being the first out on the water often means being the first on scene with whales and wildlife, making for some truly intimate and memorable experiences. Not to mention, the weather is typically calmest in the mornings, an added bonus on any wildlife search. If you can handle the early wake up, this trip is well worth it!

11:00am: Perfect for those that want to enjoy a more relaxed morning before joining us on the water for what will undoubtedly be the highlight of your day! Soak up that Hawaii sun during this midday adventure, and arrive back to the marina with plenty of daylight left for another activity. You’ll also be back in time for happy hour in town.

3:00pm: What better way to end a day in paradise than with whales and a sunset! At this point in the day, we often have a good idea of where the wildlife is at. While there is no guarantee we will see the same species we saw on our earlier trips, our crew has more information to work with. Plus, the timing allows us to catch that beautiful Kona sunset on the journey back to the marina.

Pro tip: Make it a double! Book two trips with us and get $20 off of your second tour. Whether it’s a whale watch or night manta snorkel, we’d love to see you on the water for another adventure.

Check out our tour calendar and book your trip today to join us during the most wonderful time of the year.
