Let us paint you a picture…
You wake up to bird song, a symphony of species rustling in the treetops waking with the first hint of dawn. You look outside to catch the brilliant golden hour light, the sky painted a million shades of vibrant, warm colors. Today is the day. You’ve booked a Signature Snorkel with Hawaiian Adventures, and you know that adventure awaits you. Yes, it’s early, but you’ve traveled from the mainland and have jet lag on your side. Plus, you know that this early start means that you will be one of the first boats on the water with the wildlife this morning, a worthwhile tradeoff.
On your drive down to Honokohau Harbor, you sneak peaks at the ocean that parallels the highway, your excitement building knowing that you’ll be diving into those beautiful blues soon. As you pull into the marina, you spy the “HA” logo where your crew is waiting to greet you. They lead you down to the boat, where you sink into comfortable cushioned seats and stash your towels and bags in under-seat cubbies. After some crew introductions and a safety briefing, it’s time to cruise off into the blue!
You keep your eyes on the water, scanning for sea turtles and fish as we leave the dock behind, you may even luck into a sighting of one of the marina’s regular tiger sharks. You note the captain up on the fly bridge, scanning the horizon for dolphins and other wildlife as he takes you along the coast. As the speed picks up, you feel the cool morning breeze across your face, the subtle taste of sea salt in the air.
Nature is unpredictable, but here in the waters of Hawaii you know that your odds of encountering some of the oceans’ most remarkable mega fauna such as dolphins, mantas, sea turtles or sharks are high. That’s why you’re here, to see what wonders nature has in store for you and wake up with the wildlife.
The captain spots the telltale splashes of life ahead of you. Since you left the marina before everyone else, you’re the only boat present and you get to experience the magic of floating amongst these magnificent beings in the wild in a quiet, peaceful setting with no crowds in sight. If you were questioning the early wake-up until this point, your doubts quickly fade away.
Your crew lowers a large and sturdy swim ladder into the water, and you slide in, feeling the bubbles race across your skin as you submerge beneath the surface. You taste salt on your snorkel as you watch the wildlife beneath you, your fins allowing you to move through the water with ease. You can’t imagine a more exhilarating way to start the day.
When you’ve had your fill, climb back onboard for a freshwater rinse and enjoy a refreshing drink to rehydrate after a morning in the salt and sun. We’ll have you back at the dock just in time for lunch, where you’ll regale your friends and family with memories of your Hawaiian Adventure with Those Guys.
